This is a great post! We have similar issues with Roxy - We live very close to a river and I envisioned evening walks along the shore - not happening with our girl - she bolted for the tree line too. I totally agree with breaking it down to simpler things as Roxy now enjoys walking near water and being in her pack near a river oh and she’s getting used to being in the kayak, but I doubt we’ll ever see her basking in a beach front sunset. For me the big thing is to not impose my adventure fantasies on her - like you say - let them set the boundaries. I really enjoy your blog posts as you keep them real - we both know everything is not perfect out of the gate with many adventure cats and social media can set some unrealistic expectations for new adventurers

Edithann doesn't like other cats (which include the 3 belonging to my daughter next door), much less strange dogs. She is OK with our dog, Gypsy. I can't let her loose on our 10 1/2 acres because of the gators, sandhill cranes and wild turkeys. Where should I get the harness and how do I fit it to get the correct size?
