Fur Sibling Love?

Fur Sibling Love?

Picture
Having a big brofur (or a little sisfur!) can be absolutely splendid on occasion.  But, other times – not so much!

Fur those of you who follow us on Instagram, the story of our love (and sibling rivalry!) may seem a bit mysterious and complicated.  And that’s because, well, really it is.  Some days are a rocking success as we wreak shenanigans throughout the house like the fabled teams of Tom and Jerry or Bonnie and Clyde.  Others, well, not quite so much.  In the end, we really do love each other.  Sometimes we just need a little bit of space…

Here in all its glory, illustrated thanks to our meowma’s sad infliction by the pawparrazzi virus, we’d like to present to you a story of deepest love, sweetest adoration, infinite mystery, frequent jealousy, and occasional bouts of rabid fear.  Without further ado, we'd like to present to you A Tale of Two Siblings.

A ShiShi Purrspective

Picture
What is it like to have a big brofur like Haku?  Well - sometimes I find it very confusing!   Unless I am in hiding fur my peaceful afternoon naptime, we are usually close by to each other.

When I was younger, he even used to stand guard fur me while I was at the litterbox, which really was very kind, if rather uncomfortable as well.  (Privacy please!)  He is even the one who taught me how to hunt lizards.  It's hard to believe now, but I didn't have the faintest idea about what to do with those crazy things until he showed me his hunting skills.  And he truly has a one-of-a-kind talent fur finding the most delicious snacks to eat - hanging out around my brofur is almost like having a magic treat finding genie fur a pal.

That said - why oh why does he insist on chasing me under the armoire??  At least once a week!  I simply do not consider that durned chasing game to be necessary to my happiness!  Honestly, lately I've been taking to warning him off before he can even get started, but only with limited success.  First it starts with a sweet nose boop, then a nuzzle to the neck, and before I know it I'm cramming myself into some tight space that Mr Fluffy Pants can't fit into.   But never fear - the school of hard paw knocks has taught me many evasive tricks - and a teensy bit of revenge, too...

All the Luv From Haku

Picture
Well, I'd just like to say, before anything else, that no matter what ShiShi may have said - I didn't do it!

But with that out of the way, mostly I think that having a sisfur like ShiShi is pretty pawsome.  She's a super slow and picky eater, so there is often a bit of extra treats that find their way toward my ever-so-hungry self.  I mean, seriously, how does she manage to draw out her eating time sooooo long, when those tasty morsels always seem to disappear so fast fur me.  Except fur the bonito flakes - then Miss Finicky is fast like lightening (Durn!)

Also, she is just incredible at finding playmates to entertain us out on the lanai.   And even indoors she always has something interesting at paw.  A bead, a string, a cap from a pencil - with ShiShi around, there is never a dull moment to be had because she can turn anything into a game.  And, if boredom is pokes it's ugly head in my direction, all I need to do is give her a little lovebite-lick, and then there's another enervating game of chase (under the armoire) to brighten the day.   Well, unless she's putting me in my place again...

And What Have We Learned??

Picture
1.  Siblings can come with great benefits (and great disadvantages!)  When at all pawsible, try to at least train them to help in locating tasty treats around the house, or finding interesting items to keep you entertained.

2.   Stay close - who knows when your sibling will manage to claim a new box or find a new toy before you do - preventative tactics ALWAYS rule the day in this situation. ~ Haku

3.  Stay close - who knows when you sibling will successfully meow fur the super extra special treats in the tall cupboard, or locate a tasty snack left hiding under the table.  ~ ShiShi

4.   If communication breaks down and all else fails, be sure to tell your pawrents that it was entirely your fur sibling's fault!  Then ask fur treats...

5.  Don't furget about the Love!  At the end of the day, when all else is meowed and done, it's OK to take a little resting time together and rejuvenate fur tomorrow's adventures.

A Bunch of Kitty Pictures

Such a Crazy Busy Week!

Picture
It's been incredibly busy around here this week.  We (the human members of our family) in the process of moving and decorating for one of the offices that house our business.  ShiShi and Haku have graciously been inspecting all of the furnishings that have migrated through our living room on the way to the new office , and so far none have been rejected.  Well, except for the giant glass bowl that ended its short decorative life when it was tossed to the floor during late afternoon chase-time.

So, with no time to act extensively as typist for the kitties, I thought that an offering of some of this week's pictures would still be rather fun.  Hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we enjoyed  taking  them!

ShiShi the Climber

Picture
Believe it or not, I actually refrain from clipping ShiShi's claws so that she is able to scale our lanai screens when she is chasing lizards.  It might sound crazy, but I consider it to be part of her healthy exercise program.  And she's a joy to watch in action!

Yes, indeed - down below is that poor tragic glass bowl.  Never to be seen again.  It was actually so fabulous that I (ShiShi's besotted meowma) contemplated keeping it at home just for her to look extra glorious sitting in.  And then she crashed it to the floor...  Cats!!!

Lesson Learned?

Picture
1.  No more expensive glass bowls are getting left where kitties could send them to the floor.  Now they get shoved to the BACK of the table where it's pushed against the window!

2.  Cats (at least mine) look absolutely like they belong in golden bowls.  Must be those royal bloodlines that they all claim to have...

3.  If I don't have time to play with my cats, they will definitely find ways to express that sad lack of attention on my part.  i really should have expected that crashing bowl!
